THE PINK ELEPHANT
THE PINK ELEPHANT by Nancy Robinson
Starting your own business is like eating an elephant one bite at a time.
The most important step is the big picture first. What does your elephant look like. A clear vision of your pink elephant is essential before you can
Even start to research your idea(the pink elephant).
There are a gazillion resources on the internet on how to start your own
small business or home based business and they make is sound so easy but
they forgot the most critical part….what is it that you are wanting to accomplish with your business, how will it look, how will it work and how do you do it???
Questions, questions, and more questions. That is the process, as you begin your market research questions will come pouring in. You need to keep a “brain book” as I call it to write everything down. Once it is written down you can go back to your book and start “eating your elephant”, one bite at a time.
Most new entrepreneurs become overwhelmed once they begin their market research and this is where you need to stay focused and organized.
So let’s break it into bite size pieces- starting with YOU.
1. Do you believe in what you are doing?
2. Do you believe in your ability to succeed?
3. Do you have the support to help you succeed?
4. Are you healthy enough to put in the energy required to succeed?
5. You may say you believe but have you ever really dug into what your true beliefs are?
6. What are your money beliefs?
7. How were you raised regarding money?
8. Do you have a scarcity or abundant view of the world?
9. If someone says what a stupid idea does that stop you in your tracks?
These questions need to be answered first before you spin your wheels and charge ahead.
A great resource that has helped me is Joe Vitale’s
Secret to Attracting Money. It is a set of 7 CD, a DVD and a work book to print off and follow along. There are a couple of
Exercises that really make you have a look at your Money
Beliefs…a real eye opener. Once your vision has cleared you will see your Pink Elephant in all is glory.
